What is Hosted Account
Hosted account works on Google partner sites such as blogger,Youtube etc.You can get a hosted Adsense account by applying this Google partner sites.This account allows putting ads only google hosted domain.

Easily get approved with Adsense hosted account.
Easily upgraded to Non-hosted account.
Limited facility.
What is Non-Hosted Account
Non-hosted account can allow publisher to put ads high level domain like .com .net .org .in etc.But getting approve of non-hosted account is not easy for this you have to a good design websites/blog.
Characteristics Of Non-Hosted Account
Approval is very difficult.
Adsense ads put on WordPress blog or your personal blog.
The non-hosted account can be used to Google Apps,mobile sites.
